The new X-Rite i1 Basic Pro comprises an X-Rite i1 Pro spectrophotometer and along with the latest i1 Profiler software (for monitor/display profiling only), and Pantone Color Manager.

i1Basic Pro is an affordable, professional spectral colour measurement solution that’s easy to use, and includes everything you need to create professional, custom ICC profiles for your monitors.  It also includes PANTONE® Colour Manager for managing digital colour libraries and colour picking, and, is easily upgradeable anytime to complete workflow functionality with i1Publish Upgrade. Includes i1Pro spectrophotometer.

i1 Pro Spectrophotometer

High quality, hand-held spectrophotometer. Compatible with automated measuring accessories such as the i1iO table/arm.

• Industry-standard spectrophotometer for both emissive (monitors) and reflective (print) profiling (NB as standard, no software is supplied to enable print profiling).

PANTONE Color Manager

PANTONE Color Manager will dynamically keep all digital PANTONE libraries up to date, accurate and ready to use in Adobe® and Quark® creative applications. The included PANTONE Color Manager swatch bridging software gives users access to all PANTONE colors for precise spot color matching, and unparalleled accuracy of spot color reproduction. It also makes multiple color space selections simple for easy color translation to multiple applications and is ideal for photographers that need to shoot corporate ID images.

PANTONE Color Manager includes a unique new feature, which simplifies the creation and distribution of corporate brand style guides. Designers can include palette information, digital color data, and output profiles to ensure that their brand color is faithfully reproduced in any print production process around the corner or across the globe.

i1 Profiler Software

The i1 Basic Pro includes the latest i1 Profiler software - a completely new profiling software that provides excellent and professional colour results for the user. The i1 Basic Pro includes:

• Monitor profiling
• Monitor profiling QC (validation)
• Printer QC (validation)

Who is this aimed at?

Typically, the customer for the X-Rite i1 Basic Pro will be someone whose main interest lies in obtaining the i1 Pro Spectrophotometer to use with 3rd party profiling, calibration or linearisation software. Although it comes with i1 Profiler monitor calibration software, there are other, less expesnive methods of doing this. It could also be useful for someone who wants to upgrade to the full i1 Profiler software at a later date, but cannot afford the complete package at this time.
